As 2024 draws to a close, and Christmas celebrations light up Latin America, this edition of El Cafecito delves into two vastly different, yet equally compelling worlds: the vibrant, subversive culture of Mexico City’s último vagón (the last carriage) in its metro system, and the grim, hidden abuses faced by webcam models in Colombia.

These stories not only highlight the stark contrasts between freedom and exploitation, community and coercion and the ever-shifting boundaries of acceptance and abuse while revealing the complex dynamics of power, agency, and resistance in two very different contexts.
